“When I first started the program, I was very skeptical. I didn’t have any faith in it because I was eating everything I wanted to eat and eating all the time – snacks, cheeseburgers, pizza, pastas. And I just didn’t believe it would work. But it did work. After the first 21 days I had lost 16 pounds. After 8 months, I lost 50 pounds.
Since losing 50 pounds, I’m more comfortable in my own skin, and I feel more confident in the clothes that I can wear. I feel like I can go into any store and buy things. Going shopping now is great. I can go to clearance racks where the smaller sizes are always left over, and I can try on things that I wouldn’t have normally even looked at before. Going shopping at this weight is a lot more fun than it was 50 pounds ago.
I definitely have more energy since losing the weight. I feel more confident about just going out and doing things with my family. We went on a hike to a waterfall recently and I felt like that was doable, whereas before I would have been the one saying, ‘You guys go ahead and I’ll just stay here.’
My daughters have been great -very supportive. And the program is rubbing off on them. When they get home from school, they talk about trying to choose a fast carb, a slow carb and a protein at lunch, which I think is wonderful. Though they don’t follow the program like my husband and I do, they are definitely more conscious of what they’re eating and of portion control, which is great for them. As teenagers, it’s really important for them to start off on a good foot rather than having the problems that I had as a child.
We’re all eating the same food, and that has been the best thing. I don’t have to eat something different than the family. I‘m eating pizza and cheeseburgers and I’ve lost 50 pounds. I eat potato chips and chocolate and I still lose weight. I look forward to my evening snack in front of the TV, which was always a ‘no way, no-no’ before. You can still eat all the foods you love, you just have to eat them in a different way and maybe at a different time. So you make sure that you’re eating every two to three hours, and that you’re eating the right combination of foods when you do eat.
Lots of people ask me, ‘What are you doing, how are you losing weight? You’re eating pasta? You can’t east pasta and lose weight!’ I tell them you can, with the Food Lovers Fat Loss System.
