“I’ve been overweight for a couple of years now. I was never educated on exactly proper nutrition. My weight built up over a time and it happened unexpectedly. It just gradually kept coming, and I lost control over how much weight I was starting to gain. And then when I saw myself in photos and I saw myself who I was, I didn’t like who I was.
When I saw myself, I couldn’t believe what I had become. I couldn’t recognize who that person was and I didn’t understand who that person was. And so, I really became an antisocial person and I didn’t like that whatsoever. I stopped being in social events. I stopped being around people. Shut myself off for being overweight and I didn’t like it. That’s when I decided to do something.
I tried other methods to lose weight. I tried Weight Watchers. I tried the Atkins. I tried South Beach. And I tried counting calories. I tried skipping meals. And none of them worked. I always felt like I was starving. I had to count points. I had to skip food groups. And I felt like I was spending all this money on programs that just didn’t work for me.
I came to realize that I didn’t want to live a lifestyle like that where I was counting points. I didn’t want to live a lifestyle where I was not being able to eat the food I wanted. I didn’t want to live a lifestyle where I had to skip food groups or where I was being hungry all the time.
The Food Lovers program is amazing because I get to eat the food I want, I’m eating constantly, and I’m making smart and alternative choices to the food I want, and I’m not starving. I really feel like I conquered my munching monster.
I’m not dieting. I’m not counting my calories. I’m not counting points. I’m not starving myself. I’m eating the food that I really enjoy. I’m eating the food that I really like and all I’m doing is making smart choices with the food that I’m enjoying.
Everything has been great, and I’m getting the results I want. After the first month, I saw huge changes. And everyone saw huge changes, too. The first comment that I got from people was, ‘You look really healthy.’ And now six months later, people who see me, they don’t even recognize me anymore.
Before starting the program, I had severe health issues. I had a high blood pressure, I had high cholesterol, I had sleep apnea, and I was always catching some type of sickness every month. And after being on the program, my cholesterol dropped down to 100. My bad LDL dropped to 90, my triglycerides dropped to 89, and my good HDL leveled to exactly 35.
I started going back to the gym, and I can do things now that I couldn’t have done nine months ago. For instance, I can run a 10K mile now. I can do cardiovascular workouts for 60 minutes at a time. I’m taking classes at the gym now, and I feel physically great. I wake up and do Pilates. I can do yoga now. And I feel 100 percent better.”
