“On the Food Lovers Fat Loss plan, I lost 35 pounds. I started in a tight size 13 and 14. I knew I was in trouble when I couldn’t get my fat pants on! It was so sad. I was 176 pounds when I started off and now I’m 140 and I’m still losing. And what’s great about it is, it never feels like a diet, ever.
I work in a restaurant. I work around food. And it’s the hardest thing because it’s right there. You have a waffle with syrup and butter and side of bacon, and it’s the easiest thing to go and eat and put the weight back on – but with the Food Lovers program, the way you eat, you’re not hungry at all. You’re just not.
I eat five times a day. My kids will be like, ‘Oh, my gosh, Mom, you’re eating again? How do you expect to lose any weight?’ And I’d be like, ‘But I am!’ And then when they saw me lose weight, they would tell me, ‘Mom, I can hug you and my arms go around you!’ It’s the best thing ever. And it’s just easy. You’re not hungry, and it’s easy to follow.
My own doctor wanted to know how I did it because he thought I looked great. Before I started the program, I wasn’t feeling good. My knees were hurting a lot, and my back was hurting. And he was checking me out in my physical, looking at my chart, and he said, ‘Carla, you are the flabbiest 35-year-old I’ve ever seen.’ Then about a month ago, I saw him and he was like, ‘Carla, you look great. What did you do?’ And I was so happy and proud to share and to tell him how I did it.
My family comes over, and they’re excited to see what I’m going to cook for dinner because it’s healthy. And they don’t believe half the time that it’s really good for you! You really can eat all your favorite foods all day long and lose weight. You don’t feel deprived. You feel energetic. You feel full. You feel satisfied. And that, to me, is one of the best feelings ever because it never ever felt like a diet.
I go to parties â€•I went to a bridal shower, and I was able to eat the food there, and it’s my favorite foods. With this program, you eat food that you love. When you eat it, you enjoy it and you’re satisfied. My family eats the same foods I eat. My five-year-old eats the same foods I eat. My picky 11-year-old eats the same foods I eat.
For lunchtime, one of my favorite dishes is chicken fajitas, and I would get that with fresh salsa with my corn tortillas, and I’d have some guacamole, and my friends would be like, ‘Guacamole, isn’t that horrible for you? Isn’t it fattening?’ I say, ‘No, I can have this.’ Things like that, my friends wouldn’t believe that I could have.
I noticed a difference in my energy levels, in the way my pants fit, in just the way I looked at everything. I got up in the morning. I didn’t hit the snooze alarm. I just got up. And for me, I hit snooze like five times, you know? I used to hit it and hit it and hit it. And with this program, with the stuff you eat, the stuff you put into your body, not only does it taste good, but it helps you to feel better!
I’m never going go back to being fat, ever, ever, because I learned through the Food Lovers program that there is a way to eat, to be full, to be healthy, and to keep off your weight forever. I’m not going to yo-yo again.
